PROJECT STATUS

Secondary Plan (Current Status)

Since the October 29, 2025 Open House and the February 2026 Council update, the project team has continued advancing technical studies and reviewing input from residents, landowners, agencies, and Town staff.

This work informed the Town's emerging preferred direction, which was presented at the June 2nd, 2026, Public Open House. The emerging preferred direction remains subject to refinement as technical studies and the Bolton West Subwatershed Study continue.

Subwatershed Study (Current Status)

The Subwatershed Study work is continuing through the summer and autumn of 2026, including environmental fieldwork, technical analysis, and modelling to support future planning decisions within the Secondary Plan area. This study is an important step in understanding how water moves through the environment, like rivers, creeks, wetlands, and underground water, and how to protect these natural features as our community grows.

The Town has hired a consultant to assist with this study, and they will be conducting their field work this Spring and Summer to help provide a more robust data set to inform the study. Currently the Town is in the process of reaching out to landowners to coordinate permission to enter (PTE) agreements to complete this work. This team will help us understand the land, water, and natural systems in the area. This information will help inform and develop the Secondary Plan concurrently.
