The Town has retained to help conduct a local subwatershed study and prepare the related secondary plan for the “Bolton West” area identified on the map below. Initial work is underway on both projects, which are expected to be completed in early 2027. Initial information on the launch of these projects is available here. Workplans
Secondary Plan Phase 1: Background Key tasks include: finalization of workplan, development of communication strategy, review background report (Schedule A to this report), initiate technical studies. Phase 2: Community Vision and Policy Options Key tasks include: finalize vision and guiding principles, preparation of three preliminary land use concepts. Phase 3: Policy Formulation Key tasks include: preparation of draft policies informed by draft technical studies, public consultation to collect feedback. Phase 4: Final Policy Formulation and Recommendation Key tasks include: finalization of technical studies, draft secondary plan brought to Council for adoption.
Local Subwatershed Study Phase 1: Background Study Key tasks include: agency consultation, finalization of workplan, review and summary of background information, and initiate field work. Phase 2: Characterization Study Key tasks include: completed detailed analysis of existing environmental conditions to develop an understanding of the limits of development. Phase 3: Impact Assessment Key tasks include: developing and testing various land use strategies and impact mitigation approaches to inform the Secondary Plan and supporting policies. Phase 4: Implementation Plan (provisional) Key tasks include: developing and finalizing an implementation plan that will guide technical work that will need to be completed as part of subsequent planning stages.
