Secondary Plan

Since the October 29, 2025 Open House, the project team has been advancing technical studies and reviewing input from residents, landowners, agencies, and Town staff. This ongoing work is being used to refine the land use options and will guide the development of a preferred plan as the project moves into its next phase.

On February 10, 2026, the project team presented an update to Council and the Planning & Development Committee Meeting outlining the three land use concept options. Since that time, Town staff have been working with the consultant team to refine these options, with the goal of advancing two refined land use options by May 2026 for public review.

Subwatershed Study

The Town of Caledon has been working on a Subwatershed Study in the Bolton West area to help guide future planning through the Bolton West Secondary Plan. This study is an important step in understanding how water moves through the environment, like rivers, creeks, wetlands, and underground water, and how to protect these natural features as our community grows.

The Town has hired a consultant to assist with this study, and they will be conducting their field work this Spring and Summer to help provide a more robust data set to inform the study. Currently the Town is in the process of reaching out to landowners to coordinate permission to enter (PTE) agreements to complete this work. This team will help us understand the land, water, and natural systems in the area. This information will help inform and develop the Secondary Plan concurrently.

A progress update was provided in October 2025.

The Bolton West Secondary Plan area is identified on the map below and is expected to be completed by early 2027.
