Aggregate Standards Manual Survey
This survey is intended to gather feedback on the Aggregate Standards Manual, which is part of a suite of aggregate-related implementation projects. For a description on all projects, please visit the Town’s aggregate webpage: https://www.caledon.ca/en/government/plans-reports-and-studies-aggregates.aspx
The Aggregate Standards Manual (ASM) details the studies required to open or expand aggregate operations, such as pits or quarries. It will help Town staff, applicants, and the public understand the protocols and policies for studies submitted with aggregate applications. The Manual will include detailed terms of reference for studies on the following topics:
- Surface Water
- Hydrogeology
- Site Plan Requirements
- Transportation
- Social Impact Assessment
- Air Quality and Noise
- Ecology
- Blasting and Vibration
- Cultural Heritage and Archaeology
A team of subject-matter experts has been retained to prepare the Manual.
A terms of reference is a document which sets out the requested elements of studies required for different types of applications and developments. The terms of reference identifies the purpose and reason for each study, the scope of the study, as well as how and by whom the study should be completed.
The Manual will not apply to existing operations or operations currently in the application stage.
