March 10, 2026 - Aggregate Guidance Manual and Recycled Aggregate Strategy - Town of Caledon Council

Aggregate Implementation Project A1 – Aggregate Guidance Manual and A5 – Recycled Aggregate Strategy will be presented at the March 10 - Planning and Development Committee Meeting.

March 25, 2026 – Virtual Engagement Session for a New Official Plan Amendment - Additional Aggregate Policies

On February 24, 2026, Town Council approved a motion to direct Staff to review the Province’s modifications to Official Plan Amendment 1 (OPA 1) and put forward a new Official Plan Amendment that includes relevant and pertinent policies that were altered or removed from OPA 1.


Staff have been directed to report back by April 21, 2026.


The Town is hosting a virtual webinar to discuss the New Official Plan Amendment – Additional Aggregate Policies project. This is an opportunity to learn more about the project and provide input on the project process.


The webinar will contain a presentation and a Q&A/discussion period. The presentation will provide an assessment of the modifications, and a suggested path forward for each that implements Council's directions. We will also outline next steps.

March 30, 2026 - Virtual Engagement Session for the 2026 Rehabilitation Master Plan

The Town of Caledon will be hosting a public information and engagement session about the Town’s draft Rehabilitation Master Plan on March 30, 2026. The purpose of the session is to provide an opportunity for participants to offer input on the first draft of the 2026 Rehabilitation Master Plan.


The first draft of the Plan can be found on the right-hand side of this webpage. Participants are encouraged to review the draft in advance to maximize the value of the session.

    This survey is intended to gather feedback on the draft Aggregate Standards Manual (ASM), which can be found on the right sidebar of the Have Your Say website. The ASM is part of a suite of aggregate-related implementation projects. For a description on all projects, please visit the Town’s aggregate webpage

    The draft Aggregate Standards Manual details several studies required to open or expand aggregate operations, such as pits or quarries. It will help Town staff, applicants, and the public understand the protocols and policies for studies submitted with aggregate applications. The Manual includes detailed terms of reference/a framework for a terms of reference for studies on the following topics:

    • Planning Justification Reports
    • Surface Water
    • Hydrogeology
    • Site Plan Requirements
    • Transportation
    • Social Impact Assessment
    • Air Quality and Noise
    • Ecology
    • Blasting and Vibration
    • Cultural Heritage and Archaeology
    • Operations Closure and Rehabilitation  

    A team of subject-matter experts has been retained to prepare the Manual.
