Caledon Rail to Trail (CRT) Conversion

Open HouseResidents and businesses are invited to view final designs for the Caledon East Streetscape and Urban Design Study at an open house on February 21. Council will vote on the Caledon East Streetscape Masterplan in April. February 21 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.Town Hall Atrium<a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&daddr=6311+Old+Church+Road,+Caledon+ON+L7C+1J6">6311 Old Church Road</a>Purpose: To share the final draft of the Caledon East Streetscape and Urban Design Study with the public prior to Council endorsement.BackgroundThe Town of Caledon conducted a Streetscape and Urban Design Study of the Airport Road corridor within Caledon East from approximately Cranston Drive to approximately Huntsmill Drive. The streetscape plays an important role in the livability, vitality and character of Caledon East.This project will be incorporated into the Region of Peel Airport Road Reconstruction project which is<a href="https://www.peelregion.ca/pw/transportation/construction/environmental-assessment/airport-road-caledon.asp"> underway</a>. The Region&rsquo;s project will be improving transportation and safety within the Airport Road roadway and sidewalks, while the Town of Caledon Streetscape and Urban Design Study will provide direction for both streetscape design and a long-term planning vision along the study section of Airport Road.Consultation Program Public and stakeholder consultation played a key role in shaping the Caledon East Streetscape Master Plan and Urban Design Study. Consultation activities during the process included Stakeholder Committee meetings, Site Walks, Online Survey and Resident Feedback. Caledon East Streetscape and Urban Design Study 

<h2>Our Parks and Recreation Draft Strategy is now available for public review!</h2>In 2023, the Town launched the Parks and Recreation Strategy project which included a survey that received almost 700 responses, a series of six community open houses and a phone survey to gather feedback from residents on what their ideas were for the future of parks and recreation in the Town of Caledon.The draft strategy has established a vision, mission and guiding principles for the future of parks and recreation, covering Recreation Service Delivery; Programs and Services; Events and Culture; Indoor Facilities; and Outdoor Facilities.<a href="https://haveyoursaycaledon.ca/42834/widgets/178840/documents/127669" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Review the Parks and Recreation Draft Strategy</a>Residents can review the draft strategy and take our quick poll below to let the Town know if we got it right. The final version of the strategy is expected to be presented to Council on June 25 for approval.
