McLaughlin Road Municipal Class Environmental Assessment - Lippa Drive to King Street
Following the recommendations of the Town’s 2024 Multi-Modal Transportation Master Plan (MMTMP), the Town of Caledon (Town) is initiating a study to assess options for the widening and urbanization of McLaughlin Road from Lippa Drive to King Street to support the multi-modal transportation network and accommodate increased travel demand resulting from planned growth in the Town, including the new urban area within the study area.
The study will be completed in accordance with a Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) process (Municipal Engineers Association, 2024) to address the following sections of the McLaughlin Road corridor:
- Section A – McLaughlin Road from Lippa Drive to Old School Road
- Section B – McLaughlin Road from Old School Road to King Street
Your input is a key component of this study! A Public Consultation Centre is planned for Spring 2026 where members of the public can learn about the project, ask questions and share their thoughts. Additional information about this project will be updated as it becomes available.

Study Process
The study is being carried out in accordance with the requirements of a Schedule C Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Municipal Engineers Association, 2024), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.
Public Consultation Centre #1
Your input is a key component of this study. The first Public Consultation Centre (PCC) will be held on June 17, 2026 to present information about the project, existing conditions and the recommended road widening. The PCC will be held as a drop-in style open house, and members of the study team will be available to answer your questions.
Information materials will also be made available on the project webpage at: haveyoursaycaledon.ca/mclaughlinroadea following the PCC. For future consultation opportunities and project updates, please refer to the study webpage.
