Affordable Housing Strategy
As part of the Growth, Settlement, Housing and Employment Focus Area, the Town of Caledon developed an Affordable Housing Strategy which informs specific policy direction for the Town’s Official Plan and highlights the Town’s supportive role in providing affordable housing.
The Affordable Housing Strategy focuses on addressing housing affordability for households that fall particularly within the 3rd to 6th income deciles.
The Affordable Housing Strategy is also meant to assist Town Council with decision-making, help Town staff to coordinate with other agencies and levels of government on housing matters, and to raise public awareness of housing issues and opportunities in the Town.
This Affordable Housing Strategy builds on the Town of Caledon's Housing Study, the Region of Peel's Housing Strategy, and other housing-related initiatives undertaken by the Town and Region.
