The Town of Caledon is developing a Site Alteration By-law to regulate the placing and removal of fill, topsoil, and grade alterations on land. The proposed by-law is intended to protect drainage patterns, the natural environment, and public safety, while providing a clear and consistent permitting framework.

The proposed Site Alteration By-law is being developed in alignment with Caledon's broader growth and housing initiatives and would repeal and replace the Town's current Fill By-law.

Residents, landowners, and interested stakeholders are invited to attend an Open House to learn more about the proposed by-law, ask questions, and provide input.

Open House Details

  • Date: Monday, May 4, 2026
  • Time: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
  • Location: Caledon East Community Complex (CECC), 6215 Old Church Road, Caledon East

Town staff will be available to review the amended draft Site Alteration By-law, explain its purpose and requirements, and receive comments from the public.

The amended draft by-law is available under the Draft Documents tab. A comment matrix for the feedback received so far is coming soon and will be posted in advance of the meeting for review as well.
