Transportation and Infrastructure/Housing Development

I am writing this email to include a specific property to be added to the Official Plan Review requested to be included in a settlement area through the Region’s process. This can be used as a transportation terminal for truck parking and maximize the use of existing transportation infrastructure to ensure feasibility while keeping people and goods moving safe and efficiently via 0 Hurontario Street a provincial highway. This property is currently zoned as A1-Agricultural with 11.55 acres in total and roughly 2.5 acres backing onto forestry. This is situated on Prime Agricultural Land within the Greenbelt Area, situated north of King Street and Hwy 10 just two lots over to the west of the truck scale situated on Hurontario Street. The ARN # is 212412000102100.

With an enormous demand of clients requesting this property to be used as a truck parking terminal, I am hoping this request can be included in the settlement area as there is already a truck scale one property over. This would be a great advantage for front line workers to navigate easily through the provincial highway and would be part of the transportation infrastructure.

In addition to this request, this property can also be used as a housing development to further nurture Housing Communities in a very high demand area. As a realtor this area is in high demand as people want to be close to the city, but also be able to enjoy the green space around. This property would only allow for no more than 8 lots consisting of 1/2 acre to 1 acre property dwellings. A preliminary meeting has already taken place for this, but would not allow severance of any lots as its located in the settlement and prime agriculture area. My consideration for this request is that this be allowed if a truck terminal is not taken into consideration.
